The name may come off as a little pretentious but it has an actual meaning behind it. It's more or less a combination of two ideas. "Thusly" came from part of a phrase I came up with after I asked one of my friends to come up with the most beautiful phrasing of the French language she could find while studying abroad there. I was to come up with the second most beautiful combination or words in the English language since the first is said to be "Cellar Door". So after some light searching I ended up with "A Thusly Whisper". You're thinking, that doesn't really make sense, and you're right to think that because it really doesn't, but that's not the point. This blog was almost named after that phrase but it didn't fit what I would be blogging about so I decided against it. Still wanting to use part of the phrase, I used "Thusly" since it was, I suppose, something to call my own particularly since it isn't used in the modern English language anymore.
Upon further searching, I stumbled across the word “pastiche” which I had honestly never heard before. When I read the definition it seemed to fit with what I would be doing through this blog: “a musical, literary, or artistic composition made up of selections from different works”. I took that and related it to the blog since I will be compiling different artistic works, whether they are musical, film, visual or anything related to the arts, into a blog.
The assemblage of the two phrases consequently makes one meaning that has no translation of any suitability other than what it means to me which is, “Since I don’t play or contribute to music besides listening to it, I will compile what I like (in the form of a blog).”
Yeah, I might have put a little too much thought into it.
